Between July 4th, Flag Day, and Memorial Day, you really want to have your home looking as patriotic as possible for the summer. We are blessed to live in a great country with so many freedoms. It for sure isn’t perfect (no country is) and we have a long ways to go.
There are countless men and women who have sacrificed their lives (and their families have given so much too) for the cause of freedom. America is a beacon of hope that ought to be celebrated and what better way to celebrate than to give your home that summer, patriotic makeover.

This Memorial Day Wreath that is nothing but Red White and Blue
Sure, you can line your drive with American Flags. You can make the most spirited holiday desserts. But you’re going to need a statement piece like this on your door. What’s better is that it’s not exactly an American flag, but it totally is at the same time. Feeling creative? Make it yourself. All you’ll need is a wire wreath frame, some star ribbon, and red and white striped ribbon, along with some will-power, an open mind, and a hot glue gun.
A Garden Flag that isn’t so much “In Your Face”
You want to be patriotic, but the American flags tend to get out of hand fast. Here’s a way to support America while staying classless and holding onto some style. Also, garden flags are a lovely way to build some height in your flower beds.
Memorial Day Pillow Covers You Can Use the Whole Summer
The best part about decorative pillows is all you need is one and you can change the appearance of it easily. Here, you have two on the couch and one for each arm chair. The worst part about them is they end up on the floor.
A Simple Table Runner to Spice Up Mealtime
It’s so simple and isn’t going to be covered up by the food dishes you place on top of it. You can use this practically the whole summer and it’s a simple way to bring nature inside (without having to deal with actual…nature). I don’t know what’s better–the fact that it’s under $10 or that there’s matching placemats you can order to go with it.
Star Garden Décor that Can be Used Anywhere
These add the perfect final touches to any outdoor living space for the look you’re going for. You can hang them along your fence or place them in the ground. Add flags in between them and you really complete the look and expand your space.
Memorial Day is more than just a day off of work, great shopping deals, and a barbecue with friends. It began as a day of reflection on those Americans who lost their lives in battle. It’s the ultimate symbol of freedom and sacrifice and should be celebrated with reverence.
Obviously, you don’t have to use decorations to truly reflect on the holiday. It’s important to set some time aside to truly be thankful for the freedoms we enjoy. Decorating for the holiday is just one more way to add to the spirit. Don’t let this day go unnoticed in your life!
